Committee members recommended preparing short, evidence-based slides showing comparable municipal examples (Jupiter, Stuart) and potential grant sources (Lockahhatchee River District) so councilors can quickly assess expected outcomes and likely costs. Staff committed to preparing a memorandum and slide deck in advance and to return with a scoped recommendation for council approval to proceed with deeper study or pilot funding.
The committee also confirmed administrative items: appointment of a new member (Drew Henriquez) was reported as approved by council, the minutes from May 14 were approved by the committee, and the group endorsed continuing monthly meetings with flexibility for summer pauses.
Next steps: staff to deliver a memo by Aug. 29, prepare slides for the Sept. 11 council meeting and begin outreach planning for hazardous-waste events and targeted waterfront surveys if council directs.
