Town Clerk Deborah read the resolution detailing that the property lacks municipal water and seeks to connect under existing interlocal agreements; staff clarified that, under the Town’s agreement with Sunrise (and related agreements with Cooper City and Pines), the property must receive Town consent before connecting to outside lines. “The property located at 5601 Thoroughbred doesn't have Municipal Water Supply; they desire to have it under our agreement with Sunrise,” a staff member explained before the vote.
Council took the vote by roll call; the record shows Council Members Al Brittain, Jablonsky, David Kazinski, Vice Mayor Hartman and Mayor Steve Breit Cruz voting yes. No public comment was offered. The resolution limits any further expansion of service without explicit written Town consent and directs the Clerk to furnish a certified copy of the resolution to the City of Sunrise.
The action is administrative consent for a single service connection and does not authorize broader annexation or future expansions of service beyond the language of the adopted resolution.
