The Town Council of the Town of Southwest Ranches voted unanimously April 10 to reallocate $10,000 of unused consultant funds to pay for a resident survey that will inform a revised strategic planning process.
Russell (administration) told the council staff had identified an available $10,000 balance from prior consultant work and recommended using that money to hire a firm to design and implement a resident survey and facilitate public engagement. "We want to use $10,000 to go ahead and formulate the resident survey with this consultant," Russell said.
A council member moved the reallocation, another seconded, and the motion passed by roll-call vote with Council members Jablonsky, Kazinski, Albertton and Vice Mayor Hartman recorded as voting yes. The council noted the work is within the town administrator's purchasing authority and said the goal is to get timely resident feedback before the end of the fiscal year.
The council did not specify the consultant by name in the public discussion; Russell said staff had identified a firm and that the amount was available because previously budgeted funds for Sage Consult were not fully used. The administration listed the task for staff as publishing the contract and producing the survey; the Clerk will record the vote in the minutes.
