Town wins $587,000 Broward grant to help fund Dykes Road turn-lane project; resident survey closed
Summary
Town staff announced a $587,000 Broward guaranteed-match grant for the Dykes Road turn-lane project; combined with an earlier state appropriation of roughly $400,000 the funding positions the project for construction with minimal town match. The resident survey closed with over 400 responses.

Town Administrator Russell told the council the town received a $587,000 award from Broward County's Certex Guaranteed Match Program to help fund the Dykes Road turn-lane project.
Russell said the town previously received a state appropriation of about $400,000; together those funds place the project "in a really good position to complete this project soup to nuts with minimal town match," he said. Council thanked community-services staff for applying.
Russell also reported that the resident survey has closed with more than 400 responses; staff will review results with the town consultant and present a summary to the council at a future meeting. No formal budget vote was recorded at the Sept. 15 meeting.
Next steps: staff will integrate grant and state funding toward design and procurement for the Dykes Road turn-lane effort and will present resident-survey findings to council.
