The Erie Redevelopment Authority transmitted two memorandums and a list of properties it plans to consider for acquisition under the urban redevelopment law, Section 12.1. Aaron Snippert said the transmittal clarifies that the authority must provide the planning commission a list at least 30 days before acquisition and that the commission may recommend whether proposed residential, commercial or industrial reuse aligns with the Erie comprehensive plan.
Snippert said the transmittal begins the 30-day review period; if the planning commission does not certify that a proposed reuse is inconsistent with the comprehensive plan within 30 days, the authority may proceed with acquisition under the statute. Commissioners requested access to updated photos and property identifications in Dropbox to aid review and Cooper Moore agreed to share materials.
Next steps: commissioners have 30 days from the transmittal to review the list and transmit any objections or questions to the Redevelopment Authority; staff will provide materials to support review.
