Commission grants final approval for Grover Cleveland Elementary expansion

The Erie Planning Commission approved final land-development plans for an expansion at Grover Cleveland Elementary School.
John Finn of HHSDR said the project includes a gymnasium addition to the east, four new classrooms, a parent drive between 36th and 38th streets to ease drop-off congestion, expanded parking and two stormwater-management facilities. Finn said the design has not changed since the preliminary submission and that bids for construction returned favorably.
Cooper Moore confirmed reviews are complete, noting only administrative outstanding items: recording of final drawings, signature pages and receipt of an MPDS permit from the conservation district. The commission moved, seconded and approved final land development.
Next steps: applicants will obtain the MPDS permit, record required documents and proceed with construction procurement.
