After a brief discussion about timing and advance distribution of materials, a member moved and another seconded that the EAC sign the draft letter of support. The motion carried by voice vote; one member recorded opposition. Members noted they would make greater efforts to circulate grant materials earlier in the packet in future meetings.
The letter of support, dated March 2, 2026, outlines the proposed project and its intended outcomes and will be included with the city's grant application. The EAC chair was authorized to sign the letter and submit it with the application.
What happens next: The signed letter will accompany the city's PHMC grant application, and staff said they would try to circulate similar materials earlier for future grant requests to allow fuller committee review.
