Planning commission approves Housing Authority administration building at 1032 Parade Street

The Erie Planning Commission approved final land development plans for a three-story, roughly 5,436-square-foot administration building for the Housing Authority of the City of Erie at 1032 Parade Street.
Adam Honey of Lair Associates introduced the application and Christy Van Dyke of Roth Mars Partnership described the building’s intended use: relocation of the Housing Authority’s administration offices from 606 Holland Street, with executive offices, secretarial space, a boardroom and training areas. Commissioners confirmed there are no outstanding staff comments; Cooper Moore, assistant planner and secretary, said the site development remains consistent with preliminary approval. Commissioners asked whether parking is driven by ordinance or a demand study and were told parking is set by the city’s zoning ordinance and the proposal provides a few extra spaces beyond the minimum to help alleviate adjacent parking concerns.
A commissioner moved to approve final land development; the motion was seconded and approved.
