Mike Bender elected chair and Laura KD elected vice chair of Oakdale Tree Board

During the Jan. 20, 2026 meeting the City of Oakdale Tree Board held nominations for chair and vice chair. A member nominated Mike Bender for chair; the nomination was seconded and Bender accepted the nomination.
"I'll accept," Mike Bender said after being asked if he was willing to serve.
The board then nominated Laura KD for vice chair; after no additional nominations were raised the board closed nominations and the officers were installed. The transfer of the gavel to the new chair occurred during the meeting and the newly elected chair presided for the remainder of the session.
Nick, the outgoing chair, said he is preparing to move and was not a candidate for another term, noting he expected to be present at least through the March meeting. No formal roll-call vote tally was recorded in the transcript; officers were elected by motion and assent.
The newly elected officers will carry the board's responsibilities for the coming term and lead the March meeting planning.
