Lincoln council approves five liquor‑license and manager applications, including Mariscos El Rey

Applicants for Mariscos El Rey — Sergio Sandoval and business partner Chris Aguilera — told the council the restaurant serves authentic Mexican seafood and plans to offer limited alcohol such as beer and micheladas. Council members asked about manager Alma Sandoval's manager‑training status and fingerprinting; the applicants said Alma had not completed manager training yet, was out of town but was flying in later that night, and that fingerprints had been submitted though they were close to expiring. Councilwoman Washington noted voter‑registration information for Alma had not yet appeared in the application record but the applicants said that was likely a timing/sync issue between city and state systems.

Dan Eichorn spoke on behalf of Kelly's Pub, describing a long‑standing neighborhood bar he has managed and recently purchased. The council had no substantive questions about Kelly's application. A manager application for Jim Crawford at Town Place Suites was listed; the applicant was not present and no public comment was offered.

A motion to approve items 4A through 4E was made and seconded; the roll call recorded unanimous approval (6‑0) for all five items.
