The Canton Township Board of Trustees adopted a resolution declaring May as Lupus Awareness Month and recognized the retirements of Canton Police K-9 Ragnar and his handlers, Officer Brian Soac and Officer Patty Esselink, Supervisor Amry Graham Hudek said.
Hudek noted the board "will miss them greatly" and included the resolutions among several proclamations and recognitions reported in the supervisor summary. The supervisor summary did not include the full text of the Lupus resolution or remarks from the honored officers.
