Leitchfield council approves routine items, presents beautification awards and authorizes invoice payment

During its March 2 meeting the Leitchfield City Council handled routine business, presented community awards and approved payments.
The council approved the regular meeting minutes from Feb. 16, 2026, ratified bills that had been distributed in advance, and accepted the January 2026 financial statement after motions and voice votes. Staff noted hard copies of financials were available after the meeting for those who requested them.
Council members presented City Beautification Awards honoring property improvements at multiple downtown addresses, including 20 Public Square (Ucci Baby), 30 Public Square (Clay Bradley Attorney Law Office), 115 North Main Street and 117 West Main Street, and 109 East Main Street (Old J). Absent recipients such as Scotty Hawkins were noted and certificates will be delivered.
Council approved payment of an invoice to Matthew Woolley related to a speaker engagement for Tim’s radio; George moved, Clayton seconded and the measure passed by voice vote. Announcements included April cleanup dates (transfer station Saturdays and a community cleanup day set for April 11 from 8 a.m. to noon) and a Solid Waste Committee meeting scheduled for March 16 at 4 p.m. The council then adjourned.
