The Utilities Commission authorized the superintendent to advertise for bids on a new utility-shop truck at its April 4 meeting.
Dwight, who raised the request, said the commission plans to add a truck to the fleet, move an older 2013-model vehicle to the gas crew and provide the gas crew two vehicles so they can work in separate locations. "we're going to add to our Fleet uh and move a truck down ... that'll give the gas crew uh two vehicles and that that'll allow them to go in two different directions," Dwight said.
Commissioners discussed whether the purchase would be charged to the gas budget or handled through depreciation; Sabrina said the cost "she would depreciate it across the and basically be across all three." Mr Ferris moved to authorize advertising for the truck and Mr Jones seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
Brad was noted as returning in May to give an update on a related report. The commission did not specify a purchase amount or a procurement timetable in the recorded discussion; staff were instructed to proceed with advertising for bids.
