The Southampton Union Free School District board voted to reschedule its regular March meeting from March 10 to March 11, 2026 and approved a slate of action items and policy readings during a work session.
During a discussion about conflicts with a Long Island championship basketball game, President Epley asked members whether they could move the March 10 meeting. A motion to reschedule the meeting to March 11, 2026 was made and the clerk called the roll; recorded affirmative votes included Robert Zachary, Rodney C. Pearson, Monique Proctor, Sherwood, Laura White and Ruth White. The motion carried.
The board then moved to action items 9.01–9.04 and approved them as presented by roll call. Afterwards the board considered multiple policy readings (including third readings for policy 2420 administrative regulations and others, and second readings for a long list of financial and instructional policies). The clerk conducted roll-call votes on the presented policies, and the members present voted to approve the policies as presented.
No formal public comments were made during the session; the president reviewed the rules for public comment and reminded speakers of a three-minute limit and restrictions on discussing individual personnel or students.
The board adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
