Greendale board approves roof and ballfield contracts, accepts monthly financials

Trustee Barbian, reporting for the Finance Committee, recommended awarding the full roof‑replacement contract for the Community Learning Center to Hernandez Roofing for $233,214. Staff told the board that although the award is slightly above the $215,000 estimate, savings from other 2026 capital items would cover the difference and a full replacement offers greater longevity ahead of a planned solar‑panel installation.
The board also awarded combined ballfield rehabilitation work for Diamonds 1 and 3 to Hutchinson Property Services for $23,860. The Greendale School District offered $7,500 toward Diamond One, reducing the village’s net cost to $16,360.
Finance staff presented monthly accounts payable and an interim financial status for January 31, 2026, noting the village had collected 55% of its property tax levy and that the annual audit was scheduled to begin in mid‑March. The board approved the disbursements and the finance reports on roll call.
Trustees and staff said moving ahead with the full roof replacement supports the scheduled solar installation and reduces the likelihood of further roof repairs over the next decade. The ballfield work is part of the parks capital plan to address flood damage sustained during August storms.
