The Pewaukee School District board approved a personnel hire and voted to approve a district administrator contract after returning from closed session July 21.
In open session, the board moved and approved the hiring of Abigail Shrank as a special education teacher at Asa Clark Middle School.
Later the board moved into closed session under Wisconsin state statute for the district administrator's evaluation and compensation. After returning to open session the board voted to offer an individual contract and approve compensation for the district administrator for the 2026–27 contract term. The transcript records the vote carried but also records at least one vocal "nay." The motion language in open session referenced Wisconsin Statute 19.85 as the authority for the closed session.
The board concluded business and adjourned the meeting.
