Dr. Katie said 73% of the class of 2024 left high school with earned college credits and that the district continues to expand industry certifications and career-mentorship opportunities.
On sustainability, Dr. Katie highlighted energy-efficiency work including a districtwide LED lighting conversion (estimated $100,000 in first-year electric savings in 2020) and HVAC replacements being undertaken as part of the referendum projects; she said those investments enable added square footage while holding down energy use. She also described planned openings of modernized CTE/art spaces and culinary facilities and said several new fitness areas would be available to students in the coming week.
