Planning staff told the Brookings Planning Commission on March 3, 2026, that Ron Schneerson was appointed by the city council to fill a vacant seat on the commission. Staff said Schneerson could not attend the March meeting but will be added to the commission roster at a subsequent meeting; staff noted there is no April meeting scheduled and the new commissioner is expected to begin service in May or at the next convened meeting.
Commissioners briefly discussed that six of the seven commission seats are currently filled and that Schneerson will fill the outstanding position. No formal action was taken; the announcement was provided as a staff report item.
