Raytown board approves 2026 insurance renewal, network support and consent donations

The Raytown Quality School District board voted Dec. 8 to approve several routine but budget-relevant items, including the district's 2026 insurance premium renewal with the Missouri United School Insurance Council and a network- and license-support renewal for Aruba systems.

Board members discussed a 13% overall increase in the insurance renewal, largely driven by a higher workers' compensation mod rate and additional building insurance tied to new gyms and facilities. One member noted the workers' comp component rose substantially and that the district's mod went from 1.54 in 2025 to 1.81 for the renewal period. The board approved the insurance renewal after motion and second.

The board also approved the Aruba network and license support renewal as moved and seconded during the meeting.

Separately, members moved to approve the Dec. 8 consent agenda. The board recorded a number of donations included on that agenda: a Toyota RAV4 donation valued at $13,500 to the Hearn Career Center autocollision program; monetary gifts to schools and programs (examples included $125 from GAP Inc., $500 to Raytown High soccer and $400 to the district's elementary Christmas luncheon); and in-kind donations such as donuts for school events and gift cards for student programs. Board members publicly thanked donors and REF for supporting student activities.
