Superintendent seeks School Building Authority funds and outlines 'The Bolt' fundraising plan

"We asked for about $2 million for a couple different projects at Gilmer County High School," Dr. Minny said, adding the district would welcome partial funding if the SBA could not cover the full amount. She said the domestic hot-water system is "on its last leg" and emphasized that asking is a necessary step to obtain funds.
Dr. Minny also described an ad hoc fundraising initiative called "The Bolt," intended to support a student health and fitness center. The fundraising plan includes "Titan Patron" cubic-foot sponsorships at $10 each and sponsorship packages for businesses with on-site advertising and recognition during Titan Nation live broadcasts; the group plans a full presentation at the next board meeting.
The board received the updates and asked administration to prepare formal proposals and follow-up documentation for future consideration.
