Bailey said costs such as fringe benefits and insurance have increased and that the program sometimes reallocates funds late in the fiscal year to cover camps and classroom activities. She told the board the extension-service committee had reviewed the request and that the county commission approved the contribution at its recent meeting.
Board members asked about levy timing and whether the district should consider increasing its levy contribution. Bailey said the next levy request window is expected in May 2026 and would, if approved, take effect in July 2027. The board moved and seconded to accept the memorandum of agreement and approved it without further amendment.
The board asked staff to check levy cycles and return with options if the board wants to consider changing its levy contribution on a future schedule.
