The meeting then turned to a non-action informational briefing on the district's 2024'25 Unified District Improvement Plan. The item was presented as a preview: the board was told the plan is reviewed annually and will receive a comprehensive data-and-strategy review during the Sept. 18 work session before coming to the board as an action item at a subsequent board meeting.
"This information comes before the board annually for review and approval," a presenter said when introducing the item, and the board was told school-level improvement plans will be folded into the district plan review. The presenter identified as Dr. Colicky said the upcoming Sept. 18 work session would be the opportunity for board members to ask questions and provide feedback, and that both the school improvement plans and the district plan will later appear as action items for formal board consideration.
No formal vote was taken on the improvement plan at the Sept. 11 meeting. The board closed the special meeting after confirming there was no further business and announcing an adjournment time near 5:45 p.m.
What happens next: the district will present a deeper review of the 2024'25 Unified District Improvement Plan at the Sept. 18 work session; the plan will later return to the board as an action item for adoption.
