Scott County Council approves multiple appropriations, tables salary ordinance

SCOTT COUNTY — The Scott County Council on March 10 approved a package of funding moves across county departments, authorized application for an EMS grant and postponed action on the county salary ordinance.
Most consequential was Resolution 2026-6, approved unanimously, to reimburse the General Fund, LIT Public Safety and LIT Special Purpose funds a total of $5,020,298.75 from a judgment bond. President J.R. Ward reported he reviewed the Regional Sewer District’s 2025 financial report earlier in the meeting. The resolution directs the reimbursement of specified county funds using the bond proceeds.
Council members approved multiple appropriation ordinances for the Highway Department that move monies between the MVH Restricted Fund (1173) and the Highway Fund (1176), including Ordinances 2026-46 ($61,880), 2026-47 ($706,491) and 2026-48 ($1,166,427). Each ordinance was moved, seconded and carried unanimously.
Superintendent Hall told the Council the Highway Department has allowed the Transfer Station to use the highway loader but the machine needs new tires. Council members discussed which department’s budget should cover the expense; no final allocation was recorded at the meeting.
