"Is this meant to be a situation where we review this without any suggested text edits?" the chair asked. With no substantive comments from the committee, Speaker 2 moved to bring Policy 608 to first read; Speaker 1 seconded the motion and members agreed to proceed.
Committee members said staff and legal counsel will still review the policy and the committee will update the "last date reviewed" field if no textual changes are required. The policy language addresses designation of depositories, reporting to the treasurer or board, security for deposits and guidance on handling checks payable to the district.
The committee recorded a simple motion and second to advance the policy; no substantive amendments were made.
