The Fox River Grove Board of Trustees on March 15 approved Ordinance 2022-06 to raise commuter parking at the Metra lot from $1.50 to $2.00 and amended the ordinance to make electronic and app payments $2.00 as well.
Administrator Soderholm told the Board the increase would align Fox River Grove with surrounding municipalities and noted the current parking-app price is $1.87, which reflects the $1.50 fee plus a $0.37 application charge. Trustee Steve Knar said the rates should match and moved to amend the ordinance so the app/electronic payment equals $2.00; Trustee Jennifer Curtiss seconded the motion.
The motion to approve Ordinance 2022-06 with the amendment passed on a roll-call vote: Trustees Curtiss, Knar, Migdal, Sepeczi and Wall voted "yes." The record shows five affirmative votes and no dissenting votes. The ordinance amends local parking fees and the Village will update signage and payment information to reflect the new $2.00 rate for both cash and electronic transactions.
No public comment about the parking fee change was recorded at the meeting. The ordinance number and the amendment were recorded in the consent/ordinance portion of the agenda; staff will handle implementation details and update residents as needed.
