The Board of Trustees of the Godley Independent School District approved an order canvassing the May 2, 2026, general election and declared Jake Houston elected to Place 6 and Marissa Smith elected to Place 7.
The Chair announced the vote totals, saying Jake Houston received 555 votes to Aaron Petty’s 229 and that Jake "is the winner of place 6." The Chair also announced that Marissa Smith received 548 votes to Kayla Lane’s 245 and stated that Marissa "is the winner of place 7." A committee member moved to approve the canvass order and to declare the two candidates duly elected to serve terms from May 2026 to 2029. The Chair noted a motion by Terry and a second by Simone, called for those in favor and recorded the motion as passing on a voice vote, stating, "All of them in favor. Motion passes."
