Harrison County Commissioners Court approved the appointment of Josh Miller to fill an unexpired term on Emergency Services District No. 5 on a March 2023 agenda item. The recommendation came from the district’s board and was presented to the court by the district’s attorney, Kurt Trulove.
During the discussion a name clarification occurred: the judge initially referenced the outgoing member as “Tommy Miller,” and a speaker in the room corrected that the name is Tommy Poole. The county record reflects that Josh Miller was appointed to fulfill the remainder of that term through Dec. 24, 2023.
The court moved, seconded and approved the appointment by unanimous vote. County staff recorded that the appointment was made on recommendation from ESD No. 5 and that paperwork delivered by the district attorney accompanied the request.
Next steps: county staff will complete appointment paperwork and notify ESD No. 5 of the commission’s action.
