The Granville Central School District Board voted to approve its personnel consent agenda and granted tenure to a slate of teachers and staff, the board chair said.
The motion to accept the personnel consent agenda (items 5.11–5.18) was moved and seconded and carried by the board; the chair recorded the initial vote as in favor. Individual tenure actions approved included Christina Marquez (foreign language tenure effective 05/04/2026), Julie McCabe (English tenure effective 08/31), Sarah Fever (science tenure effective 06/08/2026), Mackenzie Aldis (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Rosalynn Tomas (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Amanda Phillips (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Elizabeth Lavender (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Rosemarie Lisonbee (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Jacqueline Nolan (elementary tenure effective 08/31/26), Molly Gillespie (speech and language disabilities tenure effective 08/31/26) and Ashley (teaching assistant tenure effective 08/31/26). The board invited those granted tenure to a group photo and recognition at the meeting.
Why it matters: Tenure decisions formalize continued employment status and were presented to the board as routine personnel items recommended by the superintendent. The board handled these as a consent agenda item so the group of approvals moved together rather than as separate prolonged debates.
In addition to personnel actions, the board approved several routine items on the consent and new-business portion of the agenda. The board approved bus use for the Rail Trail 5K scheduled for 05/30/2026 and moved forward a contractual agreement for health and welfare services with Glens Falls Central School District for the upcoming school year. The board also discussed and approved a five-year copier lease resolution, described in the meeting as a multi-year lease with an annual cost not to exceed $43,661.15 (principal, interest and borrowing fees were noted in discussion). A Washington County Sheriff's Office contract for 26–27 and policy audit updates for 25–26 were also presented and approved.
Board process and votes: The chair managed motions and seconds for the items; several votes were recorded by voice. The transcript records specific tallies for some items (for example, a 7–0 vote approving bus transportation for the 5K and a 7–0 vote later approving the wellness committee, described in a separate article). Where the transcript did not list a roll-call with individual member votes, the article reports the board’s recorded outcome.
What’s next: The board has scheduled photo recognition for newly tenured staff and will continue policy work through committee channels. The meeting later moved to additional reports and a public comment period before adjourning into executive session for an employment-history discussion.
