The Livingston Union School District Board received first readings April 9 of two policy updates tied to personnel conduct and mandated-reporting obligations.
BP 4119.24/4219.24/4319.24, titled "Maintaining Appropriate Adult-Student Interactions," was presented in accordance with Senate Bill 848. The board also reviewed revisions to BP 4119.21/4219.21/4319.21, "Professional Standards." The policies were presented for first reading; no final action was taken and the board will consider adoption at a subsequent meeting.
Board members discussed how the district will communicate the revisions to staff. It was noted that annual mandated-reporter training for staff will include a component addressing SB 848 requirements. No vote was taken on the policies during the April 9 meeting.
