Board members also discussed planned restroom upgrades. Staff and the superintendent said the district has budgeted funds and worked with an architect, but noted remodeling is slowed by compliance with updated Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Those constraints can require removing urinals or stalls, changing door swing and adding privacy walls, and necessitate submissions to DCM; staff said the planning process has taken months.
The superintendent thanked staff member Sheree for project oversight, noting two major projects were "well under budget." No final decisions were made on the faith-awareness item or vape policy at this meeting; both items will return for future deliberation.
