The Town of Farmington Historic District Commission approved a temporary certificate of appropriateness on April 21 for a new hanging sign for Sycamore Health LLC at 16 Brickwalk Lane.
The panel opened the hybrid public hearing after Secretary Michelle Failen read the legal notice for the application. With the applicant Meredith not present, Eric Emodio attended online and offered to present the proposal. Emodio said the new tenant sign is intended to hang on the existing bracket used by the previous tenant, Seagull Chiropractic, and that the sign is 22 by 14 inches, carved from high-density urethane, painted in dark green and cream and sealed with Ronin enamel paint. “It’s a very similar designed sign size and hanging from the same exact bracket that Seagull Chiropractic had previously,” Emodio said.
Commissioners asked no substantive questions about materials, location or sightlines. The commission made a motion to approve the temporary certificate of appropriateness “as submitted,” the motion was seconded, and the commission voted to approve the application.
The approval allows the applicant to proceed with the submitted sign; staff noted in the hearing that in-person installation details can be coordinated with the planning office if needed.
