Public safety presented several operational contracts and a grant acceptance: a yearly contracted fee increase to $12,000 for hazardous materials response from a county special hazards operations team, a no‑cost recycling contract for old radio equipment with Precision Recyclers, a memorandum of understanding with the South Mountain Repeater Association to install amateur radio equipment on a county tower, and acceptance of a grant (transcribed as PA DC[?] grant) for $68,355 to offset EMS pagers during a transition to a P25 radio alerting system. Commissioners approved these items by voice vote.
Staff also approved a $89,900 contract with engineering firm HRG for construction engineering on the historic Green Lane Farms Bridge (repair work; York County to reimburse 50% as it is a shared bridge) and a $13,000 increase to a UNA contract for budget system reconfiguration.
Donation acceptance: the board accepted $5,089 in donations to the 911 Communications Center received for National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week (meals and gift cards).
