Baldwin UFSD board approves consent agenda, personnel actions and financial signatory updates

The Baldwin Union Free School District Board of Education, meeting May 13, approved multiple routine but consequential items including personnel actions, committee on special education recommendations and financial signatory changes ahead of the district's budget vote on May 19.
"The Board of Education acknowledges receipt of the treasurer's report for the month of March 2025 as detailed in the final mailing," the board president said as the board moved to accept the district's financial report. The motion to accept the treasurer's report was moved by Mr. Smith and carried on a voice vote.
The board approved the personnel actions report dated May 13, 2026 (motion moved by Mr. Smith and seconded by Mrs. Quills), and it approved recommendations from the Committee on Special Education and preschool special education for January–April 2026. Those items were presented as detailed in the mailed materials and approved by voice vote.
The board approved an updated use-of-facilities report for July 2025 through June 2026 and voted to authorize execution of a memorandum of agreement, reviewed in executive session, that implements a change in assignment for an employee. The board authorized the Board President to execute the memorandum on behalf of the board.
The board also amended financial-management signatories: Jennifer Walsh was named district treasurer and Joel McGrath deputy treasurer; Doctor James P. Robinson and Jennifer Walsh were added as signatories on the district's Capital One accounts and Kathleen Lauer's authorization was removed. The signatory changes are effective 04/27/2026 through 07/11/2026, the resolution says.
Board members approved the list of registrars, assistant clerks and inspectors for the budget vote and board election scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The board announced the budget vote will be held May 19 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; a K–12 art exhibit will open at 6:30 p.m. at the high school.
No roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript; motions were moved and seconded by named members and carried on voice votes. The meeting adjourned following customary closing remarks.
