Highlights from Bryce’s presentation: the city welcomed 16 new businesses in 2025; commercial investment totaled just under $15 million and residential investment was just under $16 million (combined near $31 million). The department issued 28 zoning permits, with fees from zoning, food-truck registration and contractor registration totaling just over $25,000 for the year. Contractor registration in 2025 counted 128 registrations (fees collected $6,400); as of late April 2026, 98 contractors were registered for the year-to-date.
Bryce also summarized enforcement activity: five zoning violation letters were sent in 2025 (four resolved on first or second notice) and three citations were issued (two dismissed, one pending). Board of Zoning Appeals met four times in 2025 and granted three requested variances. Bryce recommended making the zoning report an annual presentation to council.
The council praised the report and asked a few follow-up questions about food-truck counts and permit trends; Bryce said food-truck registration has increased under recent rule changes.
