Wauconda swears in new police officer and welcomes new code‑enforcement officer

The Wauconda Village Board on April 21 formally swore in Max Milling as a police officer for the village. Family members stood with Milling during the ceremony and board members offered congratulations. The Mayor noted Milling will begin the police academy on Monday and that another officer is set to graduate this Friday.
The Mayor also announced Devin Mueller as the village’s new code‑enforcement officer and thanked public‑works, police, engineering, community development and budget staff for their work coordinating the adopted fiscal-year budget. The Mayor and staff reported on a recent Main Street and All-Business meeting attended by about 25 local business owners; attendees discussed a Route 176 closure, an outdoor-dining grant program and heard a presentation from Visit Lake County.
Trustees offered condolences to the family of longtime resident Bernie Stenbach and promoted upcoming community events including American Legion Family Day (Saturday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.) and a drug take‑back event Saturday (approx. 10 a.m.–2 p.m.). The meeting adjourned at about 6:15 p.m.
