St. James Parish School Board honors state-champion softball and powerlifting teams

The St. James Parish School Board used part of its April 15 meeting to formally recognize student-athletes who won state championships.

The resolutions commended athletes, coaches and supporting administrators and directed copies be sent to Athletic Director Dwayne Jenkins and Associate Principal Candy Rishard or Principal Angie Poche as appropriate.
Coaches and team representatives accepted congratulations, posed for photographs and spoke briefly about the teams’ performances and accomplishments. Board members celebrated the athletes’ achievements and noted upcoming national competition entries for several powerlifters.
