The Vacaville City Planning Commission held elections for chair and vice chair at the start of its April 21 meeting.
Commissioners nominated and voted on the chair position, then proceeded to nominate a vice chair and approved both positions by roll call. Commissioners also took a five-minute recess to shuffle seating following the elections.
Why it matters: Leadership elections set who will preside over hearings and guide commission agendas for the coming year. Commissioners thanked outgoing chair Ralph Lightoot for his service and welcomed newly sworn Commissioner Loy.
Details: The nominations included comments from commissioners praising prior service and endorsing nominees. The commission then proceeded to the evening’s substantive agenda items, including public comment and a public hearing on the Harvest Ridge subdivision.
