Interim superintendent named; district reports flood repairs, cosmetology and security upgrades

The Clintondale Community Schools board approved Kevin Nonblock (name appears in packet with variant spellings) as interim superintendent, with a transition period beginning May 6 and formal assumption of duties May 11. The interim appointment carries supplemental compensation of $154 per day through June 30, 2026, the board package states.

In the superintendent report delivered before the appointment vote, outgoing Superintendent Ken Zandrich reviewed capital and repair work under way: middle-school flood recovery (gym floor, offices and library repairs), cosmetology lab plans with equipment counts (10 hair-washing stations, 10 nail and pedicure stations), a robotics-room renovation, and work to secure entrances with state funds following a July storm. He also noted difficulty sourcing contractors to resurface the high-school track (full rebuild estimates exceed $1 million) and said a fallen light pole on the football field would cost roughly $76,000 to replace.

Trustees thanked the superintendent for his service; several offered personal remarks, and members acknowledged the challenge of ongoing capital work while students are in session. The board also approved routine items: curriculum adoption for middle and high school, several personnel resignations, and an extension of the school resource officer agreement (district share $99,630 for 2026—27).
