At its Jan. 8 staff meeting the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners recorded the following formal actions and votes:
- Approval of Dec. 16, 2025 staff meeting minutes: Motion by Commissioner Sean Flowerday; second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson. Vote: 5–0 in favor.
- Election of chair and vice chair (Item 2): Motion by Commissioner Sean Flowerday; second by Rick Vest. Elected Christa Yoakum as chair and Chelsea Johnson as vice chair. Vote: 5–0 in favor.
- NDA noxious weed control annual reports (Item 12A): Motion by Commissioner Sean Flowerday; second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson. The board approved the reports prepared for submission to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. Vote: 5–0 in favor.
- Letter of support for Region 5’s grant application to the Gain Center for a Sequential Intercept Mapping workshop (Item 12B): Motion by Commissioner Rick Vest; second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson. The board approved the letter of support. Vote: 5–0 in favor.
- Committee assignments (Item 11): Motion by Commissioner Sean Flowerday; second by Commissioner Chelsea Johnson.
