Stokes County Board approves capital requests, authorizes turf and HVAC contracts and adopts budget amendments

Mr. Roberts said district evaluators weighted experience, scope-response, personnel qualifications and schedule responsiveness and that Geosurfaces scored best on schedule and responsiveness. The board’s authorization directs administration to negotiate a contract and return the final contract for board approval.
The board also approved personnel and coaching recommendations and several budget amendments. The district reported an additional allocation of $284,177 in the state public school fund (for summer reading, transportation and equipment contingencies), a $100,000 capital-outlay increase from a property sale, and smaller federal and current-expense adjustments to accommodate program and code transfers.
