Commission concerns: Commissioners generally supported the sign adjustments and canopy but objected to the darker-gray repainting proposed by the applicant, citing the city's guidance favoring muted, pastel or earth‑tone shades for commercial exteriors. Commissioner Clark and others asked the applicant for alternate, lighter-and-coastal color options and an accurate, site-specific rendering showing how the final palette would look on the building and the existing gazebo feature. The applicant agreed to produce revised digital renderings for staff review before the second reading.
