The board approved the minutes of the March 16, 2026 regular meeting and voted to approve accounts payable on voice votes. Commissioners also approved a standard right-of-way agreement with Alabama Power that staff described as a corporate master agreement intended to streamline local approvals and allow local engineers to submit drawings for pole or utility work.
A proposed two-year service agreement for the jail generator, which includes diesel top-off, fuel testing and up to $1,000 in nonwarranty repairs, drew extended discussion. Commissioners asked whether the vendor or the county would be responsible if contractor-supplied fuel tested bad and who would pay disposal or pumping costs. Tam moved to table the item pending contract-language clarification and Greg seconded; the motion to table passed by voice vote.
The commission approved the purchase of a 2020 Ford F-350 from Rick’s Auto Sales for $21,500 to replace an out-of-service county truck. Commissioners also adopted a local records-retention policy based on guidance from the Alabama Department of Archives and History to provide a process for storing and destroying records.
