Williamsville sets budget hearing and vote dates; board adopts Erie 1 BOCES administrative budget and casts trustee votes

At its April 21 meeting the Williamsville Central School District Board of Education reviewed district budget details and set a public budget hearing for May 7 and the budget vote and school board election for May 19.
Superintendent Dr. Brown-Hall reported the proposed 2026–27 budget totals $248,168,844, a 2.24% increase over the prior year; the district noted the state tax-cap figure of 3.14. The superintendent said the budget presentation appears in the board packet and that the May 7 budget hearing will present the plan again before the vote.
The board also acted on several routine and statutory items. Members approved consent agenda items covering personnel, business and finance, special education and student activities as presented; the motion carried unanimously. Several retirees were recognized, including Lynn Clark (Human Resources, 18 years), Michael Koniecko (head custodian, Transit Middle School, 31 years), Amy Snyder (teacher aide, South High School, seven years) and Donna Shatalowski (cleaner, Heim Middle School, 13 years).
Under interdistrict business, the board resolved to adopt the Erie 1 BOCES administrative budget for 2026'27 in the amount of $4,255,646 and cast district votes for trustee candidates Janet McGregor Parr (Frontier CSD) and John Sherman (Tonawanda CSD); motions passed unanimously.
The board also approved a first reading of policy update 7560 (notification of sex offenders) and scheduled the second reading and possible adoption for the May 26 meeting. Board members discussed calendar and committee items, committee-of-the-whole business, and authorized staff to explore surplus district parcels and return with appraisal/consultant findings before any sale.
Upcoming dates reiterated at adjournment: budget hearing May 7 (6:00 p.m.), Meet the Candidates night May 7 (7:00 p.m.), and the budget vote and board election May 19 (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.). The next regular board meeting is May 26.
