Red Bank commission approves consent agenda and a FY2026 budget amendment

The Red Bank Board of Commissioners approved its consent agenda and a budget amendment on a unanimous voice vote.
Vice Mayor Holly Berry moved to approve the consent agenda, which included the April 7 and April 14, 2026 meeting minutes, authorization of an animal-control contract with McCauley, awarding the annual Red Bank citizen scholarship to a Red Bank High School student, proclamation of April 22, 2026 as National Administrative Professionals Day, and authorization of a paving contract with Wright Brothers Construction for TIP #130155. Commissioner Jamie Fairbanks Harvey seconded the motion; the board voted "Aye" and carried the items.
On unfinished business, the board adopted Ordinance 26-1302 on second and final reading to appropriate $130,300 for the general fund and $4,000 for stormwater for FY2026 (the fiscal year runs July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026). Commissioner Jerry Holmes moved the ordinance, which passed on a roll-call unanimous vote. No residents spoke on the budget amendment during the vote.
The commission reminded residents that staff budget presentations from public works, community development and court departments are scheduled for an upcoming workshop, and that FY27 budget materials are available on the city website.
The meeting then proceeded to additional ordinances and the appointment of an interim judge.
