The Franklin Park Police Chief reported at the April 15 borough council meeting that officers handled 726 calls for service in March, averaging about 24 calls per day, and that those calls produced 13 arrests.
The chief outlined incident categories in March: two assaults, one indecent assault, one criminal trespass, one retail theft, two disorderly conducts, three drug possessions, two counterfeit-document incidents and one DUI. Officers investigated 12 traffic accidents and conducted 117 traffic posts aimed at addressing resident concerns about speeding and motorists running stop signs.
The chief also noted patrol mileage for the month totaled about 11,691 miles and commended ongoing officer training and regional emergency-coordination activity, including participation with North Allegheny School District and the North Hills Council of Governments.
"There was 726 calls for service. That averages 24 calls a day in a month, resulting in 13 arrests," the chief said.
Council members acknowledged the report and offered thanks for departmental training and public-safety efforts. No formal action was taken on the police report; staffing and a conditional hire were handled later in the agenda.
