La Joya ISD announces transportation upgrades and schedules parent meetings

The district said it completed a comprehensive review of transportation operations as part of its Excellence Together 2030 initiative and identified opportunities to improve safety, reliability, communication and efficiency. As a result, officials plan to introduce new technology tools that will let families view bus routes, locate bus stops and receive secure updates about route changes or delays.
District officials said the tools are intended to increase transparency and improve communication with parents who rely on school buses. The district also plans routing improvements aimed at reducing students' time on the road and additional driver training, revised campus procedures and enhanced emergency-response systems to strengthen safety.

La Joya ISD announced a second round of community meetings set for April 20 at La Joya High School Cafeteria, April 23 at the What-A-Burger Lincoln High School Cafeteria, and April 30 at the Palm View High School Cafeteria; all sessions are scheduled from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The district described the meetings as opportunities to learn about the planned improvements, ask questions and share input directly with district leadership and the transportation team.
The agency official thanked parents for their feedback and said the district will use it to continue strengthening transportation services. The announcement concluded with a brief verbal response from a participant following the closing remarks.
