The Borough Buna Council on March 23 unanimously approved a slate of consent resolutions including the acceptance of Deputy Clerk Pamela Johnston's retirement, an internal appointment to supervising emergency medical technician and a small engineering contract for municipal resurfacing.
Resolution 44-26 accepted the retirement of Deputy Clerk Pamela Johnston, effective July 1, 2026. A council member noted Johnston served the borough for 25 years. "We wish her nothing but the best in her retirement years," the mayor said during the motion to approve; the motion was moved by Paru and seconded by Alvarez and approved by roll call.
Under the consent agenda, the council also rescinded Resolution 38-26 and approved Resolution 46-26, appointing Angel Collelexo Gomez to the permanent position of supervising emergency medical technician effective March 23, 2026. Resolution 47-26 fixed salaries for borough employees for 2026. The council awarded a contract (Resolution 48-26) to Delasian Associates for engineering services related to the NJDOT municipal-aid resurfacing of Atlantic Avenue and Janet Street in an amount not to exceed $30,000.
