One commissioner said he had toured county jails and observed inmates performing cleaning tasks and questioned why the county would contract out services that trustees might provide. Another commissioner asked county staff to obtain clarifying information and suggested tabling or holding the item until Friday. The mover and second on the floor were withdrawn and staff said they would follow up with answers and bring the item back at a later meeting.
Result: the motion was withdrawn and the contract was held for further information and discussion at the board's Friday session.
