Ellitzville’s Town Council voted unanimously to award a Community Crossing matching-grant contract to Milestone Contractors to repave four residential streets, town officials said.
Street Commissioner Kip Hetti told the council the low bid was just under $148,000 and listed the targeted work: Jessica Street between Benjamin and Hayden Court; Meadowlands Drive from Paddington Way to Daisy; Clover Drive from Meadowlands to Daisy; and Wildflower Drive from Meadowlands to Daisy. Council members approved the contract during the April meeting.
The contract uses a state-local matching grant program to pay for resurfacing, Hetti said; the meeting record did not specify the exact split between grant and local funds. No votes or amendments to the contract were recorded in the transcript beyond the council’s unanimous approval.
The council did not immediately set a construction schedule in the reported discussion. Town staff said they will discuss funding details and implementation at an upcoming meeting.
