Prescott CDBG advisory board re-elects Marian Settle as chair, names Debbie Savoini vice chair

The Prescott City CDBG Citizens Advisory Committee voted April 15 to appoint Marian Settle as the committee chair for a one-year term and to install Debbie Savoini as vice chair.
The board began the meeting with roll call and approved the March 18 minutes by voice vote before members heard introductions from new and returning members. Michael McInness, the city’s CDBG coordinator, explained the committee must now elect a chair and vice chair for one-year terms and outlined the process for nominations and voting.
Two members—Ginger Cutting and Marian Settle—were discussed as potential chairs and each offered brief remarks about their experience and goals for the committee. A motion to appoint Marian Settle as chair was made and seconded; the transcript records five yes votes, one abstention and one no vote, and the motion passed. During the vice chair election, three candidates were nominated (Ginger Cutting, Deborah Miller and Debbie Savoini); Debbie Savoini was nominated and elected by voice vote.
The committee’s new leadership will serve for one year; McInness reminded members the committee’s recommendation is presented to Prescott City Council as part of the annual action plan, which the council will consider on May 26. The meeting adjourned at 2:31 p.m.
Votes and formal motions recorded in the meeting minutes will be forwarded with the annual action plan to council.
